Camp Magruder
Camp Magruder is a United Methodist camp and retreat center in Rockaway Beach, Oregon, situated between the Pacific Ocean and Smith Lake. It accommodates groups of up to 275 people across a mix of cabins and lodges, with a dining hall (Carrier Lodge) that seats up to 225 for buffet-style meals prepared by camp staff. More than 7,000 people visit each year for camps and retreats serving children, youth, teens, adults, families, grandparents, and people with special needs, and the camp also partners with a regional education service district to run outdoor school for sixth graders.

The property that became Camp Magruder was purchased from the Jackson family for $6,000 on March 19, 1943, and was formally dedicated and named on July 4, 1947, after Dr. Frank Abbott Magruder, a Princeton-educated political science professor at Oregon State College.
